Teenager Makes $20 Million Wish List in Challenging Father’s Will

The teenage daughter of one of Australia’s richest men, Olivia Jacqueline Mead, has challenged the Will of the late mining heir, her father Michael Wright  - and put together a wish list amounting to about $20 million worth of allowances and luxury items.

A Perth court has heard how she has allegedly been left without adequate funds for proper maintenance, support, education and life advancement.
Miss Mead who is 19 years-old claims the $3 million trust set up for her by her late father Mr Wright is inadequate and as a result is suing the executor of his estate, David Lemon.

Her list of demands includes a diamond-encrusted bass guitar worth $250,000, a house almost five times average price of a home in Perth, $10,000 a year to spend on accessories, and a $US1.2 million limited edition, crystal-studded Kuhn Bosendorfer grand piano.

Other items on her wish-list include an Audi, money for the upkeep of four future children (she has planned them, each to be born two years apart) and thousands of dollars per year for care of four pets including an axolotl.

The Supreme Court of Western Australia heard the list added up to a total of $20 million.

Two actuaries calculated that if Ms Mead were to buy a $1 million house and invest the rest of the trust fund put aside for her she should receive about $100,000 a year - with a rise of four per cent per annum, for the rest of her life.

The trial is still in progress, however it could set an interesting precedent for both provision for children from your estate and challenging a Will.
